Sparta spanks Jefferson Township

  • Sparta High School (Sussex County, New Jersey) defeated Jefferson Township High School (Morris County, New Jersey) in varsity football on Friday, October 9, 2020. The final score was 46-10. The game took place at Sparta High School. Brendan Cina and Austen Frattura split time at the quarterback position for Sparta. Frattura passed for 189 yards resulting in one touchdown. Cina passed for 69 yards and achieved one rushing touchdown. Wide receivers James Maloney and Luke Szabo each caught a pass for a touchdown. Running back Sam Esposito scored three rushing touchdowns. Joseph Byrnes scored a touchdown off an end zone fumble recovery. Quarterback Theodore Fisher connected with receiver Caleb Rippey for a 31-yard touchdown for Jefferson Township.
