the tomato hoedown was sponsored by the Spirit of the Arts Foundation.Sandy Mitchell, founder and director was on hand for demonstrations throughout the day. Sunset View Farm owner, Linda Grinthal joined in the tomato fight as well as giving canning demonstrations and harmonica lessons. From a fresh corn salad to soap making, there was something for everyone. The organic sustainable gardening instruction showed what to do with your crops when they come in. A walk thru the community garden captured the beauty of nature including butterflies, bees and an abundance of vegetables ready to be picked. The storm clouds and heavy rains added to the fun of the rotten tomato fight in the field. There was a lot of composting going on from all angles. Local vendors had tables set up with their wares as well.
