Andover Township gathered for fun and festivities at the Barn for the Halloween Party and Parade. There were games and crafts for the kids and a costume contest. Costumes were judged in their age categories for the prettiest, funniest, scariest and most original. At the end of the festivities, each child was given a flashlight and trick or treat bag. The combination provided for safe trick or treating with the flashlight, as well as helping to prevent littering with the treat bags, which were provided as part of a statewide grant for the clean communities program.

Dick Wells concert - Warwick, NY

On Sunday evening, September 20, Dick Wells, now, routinely singing with his own Dick Wells Big Band, was again the grand finale of the 2009 free summer concert series sponsored by the Village of Warwick. And once again he received a standing ovation that lasted several minutes.

Hundreds of people attended the Onion Festival, drawn by the good weather, their common history and the music of one of their own - Emmy-award winner Jimmy Sturr - and the chance to dance. The crowd also was entertained by the Janosik Polish Dancers of Philadelphia, Pa. Jimmy Sturr also was joined by his parents Jim and Lillian Sturr of Florida, NY.
